Information relating to our phase 4 renovations of our Sanctuary
The votes are in, and 94% voted “Yes” to proceed with raising funds for our Worship Center renovation.
Of the 362 ballots cast, by members present Sunday, October 6th, 340 were “yes”, and 22 were “no”. Now we begin the process of raising the $1,639,800 that is needed to update our worship center. A “renovation” designation is now open, and a “give to renovations” button has been added to our website. Let’s all begin praying about how we can be part of this historical moment in our church’s history. Whether it is a one-time gift, or a weekly/monthly contribution above your tithe; each one of us is an important financial piece of the puzzle at Hopewell. There will not be equal gifts, but there can be equal sacrifice.
Pastor Dave
· Complete renovation and update of worship center space.
· Consistent and cost-efficient house lighting, updated Theatrical Lighting, Audio, Video display, and streaming capability (Not "American Idol" / Not "High Church" / Consistent with who we are valuing participation over performance).
· Comfortable theater style seating with solid wood pew end caps (facilitates invitation time).
· Baptistry relocation (allows for a more intimate experience).
· Lighten and brighten the room with updated paint, flooring, and stone and wood accents.
· To provide an excellent space where people gather to see and hear the gospel, worship our Savior, follow Him in believer’s baptism, remember His death in the Lord’s supper, celebrate His glorious resurrection, dedicate their children, give, and pray.
· To sharpen the primary tool the Lord has provided to reach our community. We host school concerts and graduations each year, bringing thousands of unchurched people through our doors.
· To fulfill our part in the stewardship of Hopewell’s 216-year legacy of faithful ministry.
· Present the vision for renovation on Sunday, September 22nd, 2024 / Announce vote.
· Create a landing page on the church website with pictures, proposed costs, and descriptions of renovation.
· Vote on moving forward on Sunday, October 6th
· Open a giving designation for “Worship Center Renovation”
· Raise all funds needed. Not equal gifts, equal sacrifice.
· Begin construction shortly after funds are raised.
· Complete the renovation.
· When we come in under budget, apply the remaining funds to principle on mortgage.
· Continue aggressively paying down the remaining mortgage and burning the note on Vision Sunday in November 2026, if not sooner.
